Day 5: "E"

E is for

Day 4: "D"

D is for Driving

I have been putting a lot of miles on my poor old Saturn. On all three on my Michigan trip, I had to drive to a larger airport because it is so expensive to fly out of Lynchburg. The first two, I drove to Dulles, near DC, and the last one, I drove to Richmond. I love to drive and my car gets great gas mileage, 35-38mpg. It has over 210,000 miles on it though, and I know it can't last forever. Other than the shifter cables breaking last year, I haven't had any recent trouble with it. I think I am going to take a train trip this Summer. I traveled by train in Japan and loved it. It's like flying without as much security hassle. More on my planned trip later.

Challenge Day 3:"C"

C is for Challenges.

Everyone lives and grows up with their own set of challenges. The ones I have been facing are not very common, but there are others that feel the same. Growing up feeling the opposite of what I saw in the mirror felt, at times, like a living Hell. But I knew that I had to put on the brave face and do what everyone expected of me. This sense of denial seems to sorta work well enough for almost 40 years. Then the facade all came crumbling down a year and a half a go. It was a huge relief, once I finally accepted myself and began this journey. The old challenge was over, but many more painfull and dangerous ones lay ahead. I know that I am on the right path now, and I am once again ready to meet those challenges.

Challeng Day 2: "B"

B is for Biking: I am finally getting back into riding my bike. I've ridden 4 times in a week and a half for about 77 miles. Not that much because it was all on the road. The last ride was with my team, so it was a very tough ride with lots of steep long climbs. It was tough and I lagged behind, but I made it. I can feel that the hormones have taken a lot of my strength. I can't sustain the effort on long climbs. I will do what I can for as long as I can. Riding with my teammates is what keeps me going.

Day one of the April A-Z. "A"

A is for Accomplishments

I feel like I have made mant accomplishments lately. My transition is moving along. I have been on hormones for 5 months now and changes to my body are starting to become noticable. I am living almost 100% female now and most of my close friend call me Robin now. I plan on leagally changing my name in the next month or two. I just need to come up with a moddle name that starts with K and flows with Robin. I have become so much more comfortable in public, mostly because I feel more comfortable with myself. :)

Finally back

Oh my goodness, it has been a very long time since I have blogged. So much have happened while I have been gone. Not the least of which is that I am almost 5 months into transition. There's too much to explain in one post. So expect more to come. Glad to be back. :)
